What Is Extended Range (Air / Trimix)?

Extended range diving is a form of technical diving that allows divers to explore greater depths and stay underwater for longer durations compared to recreational diving limits. It involves planning and executing dives that exceed the traditional recreational depth and time limits, with extended decompression obligations. Extended range divers use specialized equipment, gas mixtures, and advanced decompression procedures to safely manage the increased risks associated with deeper and longer dives. This type of diving enables exploration of wrecks, caves, and other challenging underwater environments that lie beyond the reach of recreational divers.
Before You Start
Prerequisites
- 50 total dives
- Extended Range Foundation or Sidemount certification
- Deep Diving and Enriched Air Nitrox 40 certification
- 18 years of age

Course Details
Duration
5–6 Days
- Theory / equipment setup × 1 day
- Pool sessions × 1-2 days
- Ocean / open water × 3 days (min 6 dives)
